Kinds of eSignature Packages
The Pactima eSignature API supports three distinct kinds of eSignature Packages, each designed to cater to specific signing scenarios and requirements. These package kinds are:
- Standard Package:
STANDARD
- Live Package:
LIVE
- In-Person Package:
IN_PERSON
Let's explore each kind of package in more detail.
1. Standard eSignature Package
A Standard eSignature Package is the most common type of package used for regular electronic signing workflows. It allows signers to review and sign documents asynchronously, at their own pace, without requiring real-time collaboration or in-person interactions.
Key features of a Standard Package include:
- Signers can access and sign the documents independently, using their own devices and at their preferred time.
- Documents can be signed in a sequential or parallel order, depending on the package configuration.
- Signers receive email notifications and reminders to complete their signing tasks.
- The package owner can track the signing progress and receive updates on the status of each signer.
Standard Packages are suitable for a wide range of signing scenarios, such as contracts, agreements, forms, and any other documents that don't require real-time or in-person signing.
2. Live eSignature Package
A Live eSignature Package is designed for real-time collaboration and signing sessions. It enables signers to participate in a live signing ceremony, where they can review and sign documents together in a virtual environment.
Key features of a Live Package include:
- Signers join a live signing session at a scheduled time, using a virtual meeting platform.
- The package owner or a designated moderator can guide the signers through the documents and provide instructions or explanations.
- Signers can communicate with each other and the moderator during the live session, using audio, video, or chat.
- Documents are presented and signed in real-time, with all signers participating simultaneously.
Live Packages are ideal for scenarios that require real-time collaboration, such as complex agreements, multi-party contracts, or any situation where immediate signing and discussion are necessary.
3. In-Person Package
An In-Person eSignature Package is tailored for scenarios where signers are physically present to sign documents together. It enables a seamless and secure in-person signing experience.
Key features of an In-Person Package include:
- Signers gather in a physical location to review and sign documents.
- The package owner or a designated representative presents the documents to the signers and guides them through the signing process.
- Signers can use electronic signature pads, tablets, or other devices to apply their signatures to the documents.
- The signing ceremony is typically completed in a single session, with all signers present.
In-Person Packages are suitable for situations that require physical presence, such as notarization, legal proceedings, or any scenario where in-person signing is preferred or required.
Choosing the Right Package Kind
When creating an eSignature Package, clients can specify the desired package kind based on their specific requirements and signing scenario. The API provides the necessary endpoints and parameters to create and manage packages of each kind.
Clients should consider factors such as the nature of the documents, the signing participants, the level of collaboration required, and any legal or compliance requirements when selecting the appropriate package kind.
By offering these three distinct kinds of eSignature Packages, the Pactima eSignature API provides flexibility and adaptability to accommodate various signing workflows and ensure a smooth and efficient electronic signature process.
